BERT’S ATTESTATION PAPERS

Jennifer Sanders I found this document really upsetting, as it contains all of the letters written by his mum throughout the remainder of her life as she attempted to find out what had happened to her baby boy. There are so many unanswered questions and I think she must have been heartbroken by it. Bad enough that your son dies, but worse to not know how. Just so sad.

This is a military sketch of the Pozieres campaign, also provided by the lovely, lovely forum members on Desert COlumn. The red X is the starting point of HB’s platoon.
